With BCUK celebrating its 10th birthday this year, we’re delighted to introduce you to new members of staff that have recently joined the team. As opportunities increase to equip and resource churches, we are grateful to the Lord for raising up 3 new team members to serve with us.
Nick Jackman joins us as our first Training Manager. Nick brings a wealth of experience of local church ministry with young people and families and has recently served as Director of Contagious Bible Ministries. Nick will be supporting the strategic development of BCUK training initiatives, including the design and delivery of our courses.
Jill Purslow and Sarah Stables began their roles as Administrators in the summer. Together they will be focused on administering BCUK’s training initiatives. If you join any of our courses, including the Certificate Programme, you will be in touch with them. And you’ll begin to see Nick around at different BCUK events in the coming months.

As we welcome new staff members, we also say a fond farewell to Anna Goodwin-Hudson, who served for a number of years supporting the administration of the Certificate Programme. Anna and family have relocated to Hong Kong, where her husband James has a new role at a Christian school.
With the expanding staff team, two of our leadership team are assuming new responsibilities within BCUK. Helen Thorne-Allenson continues as Director of Training and Resources and will now also oversee the Certificate Programme element of our training, supported by the growing team mentioned above. Andrew Collins will become our first Director of Counselling Ministry, a role that, in conjunction with Amanda Cook (Intern Scheme) and Sydnie Jordan, seeks to serve experienced carers with training and resources to grow their wisdom and skill in counselling ministry.
As a new-look team, we enjoyed a rich couple of days together over the summer that included prayer, planning, and punting!

Please give thanks to God for new team members and opportunities to develop the ministry of BCUK for the good of local churches. Join with us in praying, according to Colossians 1, that God would
…fill us with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that we may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that we may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.
Colossians 1:9-12
