Book Groups

Reading good books is often a great way to grow in our ability to walk alongside others well. Reading them together is a wonderful opportunity to encourage each other as we learn - and think about how to apply what we are learning to our local contexts. To that end, BCUK offers a range of online book groups across the year.

The books we choose to discuss are books that we think are worth reading but we do not necessarily endorse every aspect of the text. Part of learning together is learning to think wisely about what we read.

Who can join?

Our aim is to make these groups as accessible as possible. All our groups are open to everyone but some book groups will be particularly suitable for those with greater levels of ministry experience.

What’s the cost?

The groups are free but do require you to obtain a copy of the book under discussion and be willing to read the relevant chapters prior to each discussion.

How to join

To register, complete the form below, before the start of the group you are registering for.

Once you have signed up you will receive a Zoom link and schedule of reading. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Peace over Perfection
by Faith Chang

Perfectionism is a struggle many in our churches face. Pursuing holiness can become a burden rather than the privilege and joy it is designed to be. In this book we find help to think and act wisely towards brothers and sisters who struggle in this way. Join us for three evenings to discuss this important topic.

A (Female) Student’s Guide to Purity in a Porn Saturated Culture
by Helen Thorne-Allenson

Young women today are growing up in a culture with easy access to porn – helping them to navigate that well is an important privilege. In Helen’s short book there is biblical hope and help for parents, youth workers, pastors and friends looking to encourage young women to live for Christ in the 21st century.

Join us for a one-off discussion of the book.
