Andrew Collins is the Director of the Certificate Programme. He has spent many years working as a consultant psychiatrist in Belfast alongside part-time work providing biblical counselling. He is married with five children and is elder at his church in Portadown, Northern Ireland.

Tim Huey works as a General Practitioner and has been involved in biblical counselling since 2013. He has studied with CCEF and provides training and teaching on mental health and pastoral care issues. He is married with four children and serves as an elder in Whiteabbey Presbyterian Church.

Sophie Gower is is a teacher and pastoral worker. She has a degree in theology and is a mentor on the BCUK Intern Scheme. She is part of the steering team for the Devon regional biblical counselling local interest group. She has taught in both church and secular contexts, in both the UK (with UCCF, and as a church-based women’s worker) and overseas (with IFES). She is married and is part of a local church family near her home in Devon.

Jane Davies trained as a nurse and worked in palliative care before having children. She studied online with CCEF and completed the BCUK 2-year intern scheme in 2021. Jane is a mentor for the BCUK intern scheme. Jane is on the steering committee for the local biblical counselling interest group. She is involved in pastoral care in her church, and meets with people there, and from other local churches, as a biblical counsellor.

Louise MacMillan is a counsellor with New Growth Counselling. She has completed all three CCEF certificates and also studied theology. She counsels, disciples and provides training for church groups on pastoral care. She also teaches Biblical Counselling at Edinburgh Theological Seminary.

Steve Midgley is the Executive Director of Biblical Counselling UK. Until 2022 Steve was the Senior Minister of Christ Church Cambridge where he continues to have a part-time ministry role. Steve is a board member of CCEF and of the Biblical Counseling Coalition. He trained in psychiatry before being ordained.

Andrew Nicholls is Director of Pastoral Care at Oak Hill College. Formerly a medical doctor and then a pastor for 15 years, Andrew is married to Hilary and they have two teenage sons.

Eleanor Godwin trained as a GP before leaving the NHS to concentrate on being a mum. She has completed BCUK’s Certificate Programme and a 2-year BCUK Internship at St Giles Church in Derby, where she still volunteers as a Pastoral Worker part-time. She also works privately as a biblical counsellor in the East Midlands and serves as a mentor on the BCUK Intern Scheme.

Kenny Larsen is the Associate Pastor at Christ Church Walkley, Sheffield, with a focus on pastoral care and discipleship. He studied theology at Oak Hill College before undertaking more specialised training with Biblical Counselling UK and CCEF.

Sonia Crossley was training in psychiatry in Sheffield before she and Jim had their family. Encountering complex pastoral situations led her to pursue CCEF studies, an internship with BCUK and establishing a counselling ministry in her church. Jim’s switch from medicine to ministry means he is now vicar in a new church with different needs, and Sonia does more informal conversational ministry here and supports other budding biblical counsellors in the area.

Helen Thorne-Allenson is Director of Training and Resources at BCUK. An experienced speaker, counsellor and author, she has completed CCEF’s certificate courses and holds an MA in Applied Theology.

Tim Berry currently lives in Liverpool with his wife Dorcas, where he serves as an Associate Pastor at Speke Baptist Church. Tim studied online with CCEF between 2015 and 2022

Nicola Eggertsen is Training and Resources Assistant at BCUK. A Certificate Programme graduate, she has a Soul Care practice in Trowbridge and is doing further study with the Association of Biblical Counsellors.

Amanda Cook holds an MA in Counselling from Westminster Theological Seminary and trained with CCEF prior to moving to the UK. She has had the joy of overseeing the BCUK Intern Scheme since its beginning in 2016, alongside tutoring on the Certificate Programme. She is married and enjoys serving in a variety of ways at her local church.

Sharon Bradley is a biblical counsellor working in partnership with New Growth Counselling and also within her local church. She lives in Aberdeenshire.
