Sabbatical DBC

A bespoke course for ministry sabbaticals

Sabbatical DBC

Taking Dynamics of Biblical Change as part of a ministry sabbatical offers the opportunity to slow down and look again in a very personal and practical way at how the gospel brings grace and hope to matters of everyday life.

Taught by David Powlison, the course presents a scriptural model of understanding change at the heart level.

Two personal-change projects give the opportunity to explore specific areas of suffering and struggle.

What those in pastoral  ministry who have taken Sabbatical DBC have said:

It makes a great focus for a Sabbatical and I’ve felt this has been a very fruitful way to spend my time. Such a valuable course! I’ve greatly benefitted from the course and treasured getting to know the Lord better, Scripture better – and my own heart better.

The conversations, along with the study, really encouraged and enabled me to return to pastoral ministry re-energised. For that I am truly grateful. It might just be the best course you ever do. It was for me.

Format

We tailor the 10-week course to fit with your sabbatical, and can include breaks for holiday.

The course material is delivered through an online platform, allowing you to watch lectures and complete the reading and assignments at times convenient for you.

Feedback on coursework is provided by an experienced BCUK Grader.  You will have three online 1:1 tutorials with a BCUK Tutor with experience of pastoral ministry.

We estimate the minimum time commitment as approximately 10-12 hours per week, excluding tutorials.
