BCUK is passionate about helping churches and individuals grow in their ability to engage in conversational ministry well and offers a range of training opportunities.

God calls us to engage in works of service in the local church – works that result in us building each other up towards maturity (Ephesians 4:12).

As part of that, he calls us to speak the truth in love with one another (Ephesians 4:15) so that we may grow. It’s a wonderful call – a beautiful call – one that results in church communities where lives are shared, people are spurred on to love and good works (Hebrews 10:24) and all become more like Jesus.

Sometimes that will be involve rejoicing with those who rejoice, on other occasions it will mean weeping with those who weep (Romans 12:15) but it always means getting alongside one another and pointing each other to Christ, for his glory and the good of those around.

It’s a ministry that all Christians are called to. But it’s also a ministry that some people will be particularly gifted in – they may want to spend dedicated time walking alongside those who are struggling in profound ways.

BCUK offers a range of training opportunities

Some are focused on helping all Christians have wise, godly conversations with their friends in ways that help them navigate the normal ups and downs of life. Some are much more specialist and help people listen and counsel carefully into complex pastoral situations.
