Welcome to the Bible and Pastoral Care! Learn more about the course and what to expect in this short introduction before moving on to Session 1.
This first session explores a vision for opening the Bible together in ordinary relationships in an ordinary church - why opening the Bible matters, how it can be hard, and how it can be possible.
In Session 2 we explore how we can share our own story in conversation with others, including how Scripture has helped us and some good principles to bear in mind.
In this session we explore some of the rich, biblical metaphors for who God is, what responses they call for, and how we can use them helpfully in our conversations.
Session 4 equips us with skills to help apply stories from the Bible to our conversations with our friend. It includes examples from the biblical narratives of Ruth, Joseph, and Job.
This final main session gets us thinking about how we can use the Bible effectively in our prayers with and for our friend.
