What to expect

WHO IS THE ACCESS PROGRAMME FOR?

The Access Programme enables students who have not attended seminars for Dynamics of Biblical Change to make up the interactive contact hours that are needed for the Foundation Certificate in Conversational Ministry. Those registering for the Access Programme will typically be those who have taken Dynamics of Biblical Change 6 Months (which lacks the compulsory seminars of the course offered over 10 weeks), DBC sabbatical students and students transferring to the Certificate Programme from CCEF’s School of Biblical Counseling.

COURSE PARTICIPATION

To complete the Access Programme, students are required to participate in:

(a) One online Access Seminar: a 2-hour interactive seminar applying the material from the DBC course.

Seminar dates:

  1. Thursday 9th July 7-9pm; or
  2. Tuesday 15th September 12-2pm; or
  3. Wednesday 14th October 7-9pm.

(Other dates later in the autumn may be scheduled, if there is demand for them).

AND

(b) One Supporting Activity: participation in another group-based activity, involving BCUK material, that requires a minimum of 3 interactive sessions. This supporting activity must have been engaged with no longer than 18 months prior to your Access Seminar or be completed no longer than 9 months after your Access Seminar. Please note that solo studies are not suitable as a supporting activity – the supporting activity must include peer interaction to be eligible. Suitable supporting activities include:

  1. Participation in a BCUK book group(s) – a minimum of 3 sessions https://bcuk.org/book-groups/
  2. Participation in a Real Change course in their local church or other grouping
  3. Participation in a group studying the Crosslands Pastoral Care course in their local church or other grouping
  4. A combination of the above activities (eg a 1-session book group, and 2 x 1-session BCUK events in your church or region).
