The ministry of BCUK has greatly helped us head towards this goal. Two alumni of the BCUK internship programme have served on staff with us and this has had a profound impact on church family life as we have seen how the breadth and depth of the gospel impacts all aspects of our humanity. To date, 16 members of the church have taken one or more BCUK modules resulting in a wider base to our pastoral care and discipleship ministries. “There are many needs in Kendray stemming from unemployment, drug abuse, crime, and depression, but as with all communities the greatest need here is Jesus! Christians know they are saved in the past through the cross, and that they have future glory to come, but we struggle with the in-between bit. BCUK has helped us to 'mind the gap' and rediscover how Jesus and the gospel connects to the much of life in the present. BCUK is teaching what, for far too long, has been woefully missing from theological education in the UK and, consequently, missing from church life - it has brought pastoral counselling back to the Bible."
