BCUK is delighted to be able to offer bursaries to enable a wide range of students, who would otherwise not be able to afford it, to access the Certificate Programme in Conversational Ministry and Biblical Counselling. This has been made possible through the generosity of people who faithfully give to the work.

This bursary celebrates partnerships between students, their churches and sometimes other individuals and organisations who want to share in this vital training.

Bursary applications are available both for our 10 week and 6 month courses.  Students can apply for a bursary, once they have received an offer of a place on the course and payment details.

  • If you require help with your fees, the first point of call is your local church. They may be able to pay for some of the course costs.  We will provide you with a ‘Bursary Form for churches’ to help you discuss and clarify the church payment arrangement.
  • If the church is able to contribute to your fees, then BCUK can match fund their contribution (up to 1/3rd of the course fees).
  • You can, hopefully, fund the rest.

Often we find that the church pays a third, the student pays a third and BCUK discounts a third but the contributions can and do vary.

The fund is limited and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Bursaries can be awarded for one, two or three courses of one academic year depending on the instructions of your church and can be renewed annually.

Priority will be given to students intending to complete at least two certificates in the course programme.

The bursary is reviewed annually for the duration of your programme, reflecting our shared commitment to equipping you for ministry together.

Spouse of a Bible College Student?

If you are a spouse of someone undergoing theological training for ministry and it is not appropriate to approach your church for funding because you are in a placement church, please contact the team and we will give your application individual attention. Please give us details of the college where your spouse is studying and brief details of your church situation.

Bursary Application Process:

  1. Discuss with your church leaders whether they would be willing to support you financially and share the bursary process with them.  You may wish to confirm they would be willing to support you, before applying for the course.
  2. Apply/register for the course you wish to attend and after you have received the offer of a place along with a payment request, contact the Training Team saying you wish to apply for Bursary support.
  3. The Training Team will email you a link to the ‘Bursary Form for Churches’ for you to share with your church leader for completion.
  4. The Church leader completes the ‘Bursary Form for Churches’ to clarify and confirm their financial support.
  5. Our Training Team will receive the form and send a revised payment request to you, and liaise with your church for their contribution.
  6. The Bursary will match fund the church contribution up to one third of the course fees.
  7. You will be given access to the Certificate Programme Course, ready for you to enjoy studying with BCUK.
